Identity 2, Phase 2 was a project which involved combining technologies from our Identity 1 product, with a brand identity we were assigned to during Identity 2, Phase 1. During Identity 1, I had studied a hairdryer, and so in this project phase, I combined aspects of hairdryer technology to my Phase 1 brand – ‘Fender’ guitars.
I began the project with three A3 sheets of idea generation exploring a variety of aspects of hairdryer function and Fender brand identity.Using a concept identity matrix to support my idea selection process, I decided to take my idea of evaporative energy production forward to the development stage of my project. Before I began product development, I produced a clear design specification to structure a set of outcomes that I wanted to achieve from my final product.
The development stages of the project which led me to a final design concept. An abstract storyboard was produced to give a typical user cycle of how my product would be used in an emergency response situation. With the aid of CAD software, I went on to produce a detailed product overview which gives further information on the underlying technology inspiring the product.A promotion/poster style presentation sheet of my final concept .
